Instant Pot "Spaghetti"

This is the easiest spaghetti I've ever made. And the fastest. And I didn't have to strain it so it also required the fewest number of dishes.

  • 1 pound ground meat
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2-4 cloves garlic
  • 1 bell pepper diced (optional)
  • ½ carton mushrooms, cleaned and sliced (optional)
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp. dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 jar marinara sauce
  • 1 jar water
  • 1 box short noodles like penne or rotini

  1. Turn pot on to saute.
  2. Brown ground beef.
  3. Drain grease, if there is any to drain, leaving just enough to saute your veggies.
  4. Add onion and any additional veggies saute until translucent.
  5. Add garlic and seasonings, saute until just fragrant, 1 or 2 minutes.
  6. Add 1/4 cup water and stir to deglaze the bottom of the pot.
  7. Arrange noodles on top of ground beef. Do not stir.
  8. Pour sauce and 1 jar water over noodles. Do not stir.
  9. Cook on high pressure for half the time of the box instructions plus one minute, my noodles took 3 minutes.
  10. Quick release pressure immediately once the timer goes off.
  11. Stir all ingredients together.
  12. Serve immediately with shredded mozzarella or grated parmesan.
