Basil Rice

  • 1 cup jasmine rice
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 2 chicken or veggie bouillon cubes
  • 1/8 cup diced onion
  • 1/8 cup diced shallot
  • 2 tsp. minced garlic
  • 2 tsp. dried basil (or other herb mix if you like)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups water
Melt butter or margarine in bottom of pot or rice cooker. Add rice, stir until fragrant. Add remaining dry ingredients and stir. Add water. If using rice cooker allow to cook until timer pops. If using a pot, bring all ingredients to a boil, cover, cook on low for 20 minutes or until rice is tender.
