Rice Pilaf With Almonds
- 1 cup white rice
- 2 Tbsp butter/margarine
- 3 chicken or veggie bouillon cubes or 1 Tablespoon bouillon powder
- 1/2 small onion, diced
- 1 handful slivered almonds
- 1 garlic clove or 2 tsp. minced garlic
- 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon dried parsley
- 2 cups water
Melt butter or margarine in the bottom of rice cooker. Add onion and, using a wooden spoon, sauté until translucent. Add garlic and stir. Add rice and stir until rice is coated in butter and starts to brown. Add almonds, stir. Add water, bouillon, and parsley and stir to combine. Place lid on the rice cooker and let cook until timer pops.
If you don’t have a rice cooker you can follow all of the same instructions in a microwave safe bowl or on the stove top in a pot with a lid, using the rice package directions.
